Sapa is a frontier town and capital of Sa Pa District in the Lao Cai province in northwest Vietnam. It is one of the main market towns in the area, where several ethnic minority groups such as Hmong, Dao (Yao), Giay, Pho Lu, and Tay are living.
Day 1: Arrive Hanoi (D)
Chao and welcome to Vietnam! On arrival you will be met by your Scenic Tours Representative and transferred to your luxury hotel in the heart of downtown Hanoi. Relax, stroll along the tree-lined avenues or wander Hanoi’s romantic West Lake before your delicious Included dinner in the hotel.

Day 2: Hanoi - Lao Cai (FB,D)
Join your Included Vietnam typical tour's activity, select from: (1) uncover the history of the Communist revolution; or (2) increase your Vietnamese cooking skills at a cooking class; or (3) discover the secret people and places of Hanoi’s vibrant art culture. Depart Hanoi in the evening on the overnight train to Lao Cai on the Vietnamese-China border.

Day 3: Lao Cai - Sapa (FB,L,D)
Upon arrival in Lao Cai you will be met by your local guide who will transfer you to Sapa, a charming mountain town which is dominated by Mt Fansipan, the highest peak in Vietnam. Absorb the stunning scenery of this former hill station, the dramatic hills, picturesque villages and rice terraces. Sapa is also home to a number of local minority tribes who still wear their traditional dress. On your Included visit to colourful Cat Cat village, meet Blue and Black Hmong people and explore the village which still retains many of its unique customs and practices. Wander through rice paddy fields to glimpse a lifestyle that has changed little over time. This afternoon is at leisure for you to soak up the atmosphere; stroll through the local markets and admire the intricate handicrafts or visit the fascinating Sapa museum.
Overnight Stay: Sapa
Day 4: Sapa - Hanoi (FB,D)
Included Vietnam typical tour's activity, select from: (1) walk to Lao Chai village inhabited by the Hmong hill tribe; or (2) discover the secrets of textile production with a visit to a Hmong family. This evening transfer to the station for your overnight journey to Hanoi.

Day 5: Depart Hanoi (FB)
Transfer to the Sofitel Legend Metropole for breakfast. Later today you will be met by your Tour Director and fellow travellers and join the Essence of Vietnam tour or Grand Indochina and Mekong River Cruise.
